Huawei is diversifying into electric vehicles. Faced with trade tensions and semiconductor sanctions from Western countries, Huawei has begun to shift its focus to the automotive field. The company hopes to become an automotive supplier, focusing on automotive operating systems and assisted driving technologies.

Huawei is currently cooperating with at least five car manufacturers. Among them, the Aito M7 SUV was a success, attracting 80,000 orders in 50 days. It recently launched the Avita 12 luxury sedan and the Zhijie S7 sedan. The companies are promoting Huawei-backed advanced driver assistance features, such as highway cruise control and smart cockpits that can be controlled through voice commands.

However, facing hundreds of competitors and market changes, Huawei’s long-term performance in the automotive field remains to be seen.
