BlackBerry signs long-term software services agreement with the Malaysian government to strengthen cybersecurity. The agreement will enable the government to take full advantage of BlackBerry’s solutions, support the full unification of the Communications and Multimedia Commission, and upskill the workforce through advanced cybersecurity technologies.

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar said that cooperation with BlackBerry can ensure the security of national data, attract foreign investment, and cultivate cybersecurity talents. Prime Minister Trudeau called cybersecurity a pillar of Canada’s Indo-Pacific strategy and supported BlackBerry in building a cybersecurity center in Malaysia.

The agreement covers BlackBerry’s world-leading cybersecurity solutions. BlackBerry announced that it will establish a world-class Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (CCoE) in Kuala Lumpur in 2024, which is also its first cybersecurity center in the Asia-Pacific region. The Cyber Security Center will provide specialized training to improve Malaysia’s cyber security and response capabilities.
