Malaysia to promote halal certification process for Peruvian products

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar said that in view of the global recognition of Malaysia’s halal certification, the President of Peru requested the establishment of a halal certification office in Peru to help promote the halal certification of Peruvian products. Anwar agreed to meet Peruvian needs as soon as possible and emphasized cooperation between the two countries.

He said Boluate invited him to visit Peru next year, and Peru will host APEC in 2024. The leaders of the two countries discussed issues such as women’s empowerment and climate change. From January to June 2023, the trade volume between Malaysia and Peru reached US$168.45 million, a year-on-year increase of 12.8%.
