Nanyang Siang Pau reported that Datuk Huang Feng, president of the Malaysian Motorcycle Chamber of Commerce, said that the number of motorcycles sold nationwide this year is estimated to reach 650,000, which is 70,000 less than last year’s 720,000, a drop of about 10%. , but the decline is not large and is considered a normal market fluctuation.

According to data from the Land Transport Department, a total of about 550,000 motorcycles were sold nationwide from January to October this year, a decrease of 57,000 units or 9.4% from 607,000 units in the same period last year.

Huang Feng pointed out that looking back on the past five years, that is, from 2018 to 2022, except for the decline in sales in 2020 due to the implementation of the movement control order, the average growth rate in these five years was approximately 8%.
