The Malaysian Parliament plans to become the first national institution to use solar energy by June next year to achieve the 2030 net-zero carbon emissions target.

House of Commons Speaker Johari Tun Openg said the solar project has completed bidding and is expected to make Parliament the first institution in the world to adopt renewable energy. He pointed out at the GoESG Sustainable Finance Seminar that this initiative will encourage other government departments to participate in renewable energy applications because it is environmentally friendly and cost-saving.

At the same time, Johari announced that the National Scout Council will hold a charity dinner at the Kuala Lumpur Convention and Exhibition Center on December 1 to raise funds to support Scouting activities in response to the restart of the National Service Program.

In addition, regarding the issue of climate change in Southeast Asia, he emphasized the need to promote economic transformation, achieve low-carbon and climate adaptation, and create a level playing field.
