Globe adds 716 5G sites in 9 months

A Globe Telecom report shows that as of September this year, 716 5G sites have been built, raising the 5G outdoor coverage rate in the Philippine Capital Region to 97.67%, and the major cities in Visayas and Mindanao to 92.06%.

The company said there were 5.2 million 5G devices connected to Globe as of September 2023, demonstrating the rapid growth of its network and the growing adoption of 5G among Filipinos.

Internationally, Globe’s 5G presence extends to 156 operators in 82 destinations, providing high-speed 5G services to users around the world, making the Philippines a key player in the 5G field.

Globe emphasized that the strong expansion of 5G networks will support digitalization and provide reliable connections for needs in finance, business, education, and medical fields.

The company’s capital expenditures (CAPEX) in the first nine months of this year reached 54 billion pesos, 91% of which was used to improve data services.
