Malaysia’s total trade volume reached RM239.5 billion in October

The Department of Statistics Malaysia reported that the total trade volume in October 2023 reached RM239.5 billion, of which exports were RM126.2 billion and imports were RM113.3 billion.

Compared with the same period last year, exports fell by 4.4%, mainly affected by decreases in Johor and other places. Exports from Kedah increased, with Penang remaining the largest export destination. Imports fell slightly by 0.2%, with decreases in Johor and Penang and increases in Kuala Lumpur. Selangor takes the leading position in imports.

Overall trade presents complex dynamics that require industry collaboration to promote balanced and sustainable growth.
