The Ministry of Entrepreneurship Development and Cooperatives has provided a total of RM5.19 billion to 292,000 micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and cooperatives this year.

Minister Ewon Benedick said that it is a great achievement that 83,361 new MSME entrepreneurs have been trained as of this month. At the same time, the department implemented new initiatives, including the launch of the Tamu Entrepreneur Financing Scheme (SPUT) in Sabah and Sarawak, with plans to expand it nationwide.

To facilitate MSMEs into international markets, the ministry will focus on high-impact industries and provide environmental, social and governance (ESG) compliance guidelines to meet international market needs.

Ewon said the upcoming ESG guidelines will have a significant impact on the industry.
