Surbana Jurong signs MoU with Sarawak Investment Authority to pursue net-zero future

Singaporean urban, infrastructure and management services consultancy Surbana Jurong Pte Ltd has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Sarawak Investment Authority to jointly deepen Sarawak’s energy transition, transition and decarbonization initiatives.

The MoU, signed during the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28), aims to cooperate in developing Sarawak’s green economy, addressing challenges and leveraging opportunities through upgrading human skills, energy transition and industrial decarbonization projects.

Important aspects of the collaboration include jointly establishing joint ventures in industrial parks, implementing decarbonization and sustainable energy standards, and exploring carbon capture opportunities to drive Sarawak’s future economic development and industrial positioning.

The CEO of Sarawak Investment Authority said that cooperation will create new opportunities for Sarawak and enhance confidence in the economic prospects.
