Kazakhstan and Malaysian AirAsia expand tourism cooperation

The Deputy Minister of Tourism and Sports of Kazakhstan met with the General Manager of AirAsia X and focused on plans to develop tourism, expand passenger traffic and promote cooperation.

The meeting emphasized the critical role of direct flights in reducing travel barriers and promoting economic, investment and cultural exchanges. Direct flights between Kuala Lumpur and Almaty are expected to boost business tourism, increase tourist numbers and create new opportunities.

AirAsia plans to start four weekly direct flights in March 2024, creating new opportunities for tourism, trade and investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and Malaysia. The cooperation plan also includes joint marketing activities to attract tourists from Southeast Asian countries.
