Kenanga Research notes that demand for business and leisure air travel will continue to recover in 2024, in line with Tourism Malaysia’s forecasts.

The number of tourists in Malaysia is expected to reach 27 million in 2024, an increase of 35% from 2023. Chinese tourists account for an estimated 12% of this total. The implementation of the visa-free policy and the increase in flights will drive growth in passenger demand.

It is expected that passenger throughput at Malaysian airports will increase by 7% in 2024, reaching 131 million passengers. Kenanga Research believes this will support the growth of Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) and Capital A Bhd.
