Turkish infrastructure company IC Holding is in preliminary talks with Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) on cooperation at Istanbul’s Sabiha Gokcen International Airport. Negotiations may involve IC Holding acquiring a stake in the airport, but have not yet been finalized.

IC Holding operates Turkey’s smaller Kutahya Airport and has previously undertaken construction projects for airports in many regions around the world. MAHB stated that it has entered into strategic cooperation with IC Holding, but did not disclose details. Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport is the third busiest airport in Turkey, with passenger traffic increasing by 21% from January to November 2023.

MAHB had planned to sell shares in the airport, which aroused the interest of international investors, and Turkish Airlines had made an equity offer of nearly 940 million euros.
