EP Manufacturing Bhd (EPMB) through PEPS-JV (Malacca) Sdn Bhd has been appointed as the vehicle assembler for Great Wall Motors Sales Malaysia Sdn Bhd (GWM Malaysia) for the next eight years.
Initially, it will focus on the assembly and production of the medium-sized SUV Haval H6 and the compact SUV Haval Jolion. The agreement allows for future adjustments to the production lineup, with an annual output of 20,000 units by 2028. Assembly and production activities will be carried out at the automotive manufacturing facility at HICOM Pegoh Industrial Park in Malacca, where it is expected to create 1,000 new jobs.
EP Manufacturing CEO Ahmad Razlan Mohamed said the partnership with Great Wall Motors will introduce China’s best-selling SUV brand Haval to Malaysia, in line with the company’s commitment to vertical integration of its business.
