Sime Darby Beyond Auto has released the first teaser image of the BYD Seal in Malaysia, which will compete with the Tesla Model 3. The price is expected to be between RM180,000 and RM220,000, with the launch event expected to be held after mid-February.
BYD Seal will be the first electric vehicle in Malaysia equipped with Cell-to-Body (CTB) batteries. It is different from the traditional Cell-to-Chassis (CTC) battery structure, which improves structural integrity while ensuring better ride, handling and safety.
Tesla’s Model Y and Cybertruck manufactured in Texas use CTB, while Tesla models manufactured in China still use the traditional CTP method.
