Malaysia will continue to attract global EV brands

Malaysia plans to attract more electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers to set up factories in the country. Tesla has set up a regional headquarters in Malaysia last year and has become a supplier of charging stations.

The Malaysian government wants to capitalize on the growth of the electric vehicle market to attract more manufacturers to set up factories and supply components in the global supply chain. Malaysia plans to double down on its investment in the semiconductor sector to upgrade the EV supply chain, the Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry said.

Malaysia will set up a National Semiconductor Strategy Task Force to drive strategic investment and development in the sector while strengthening talent development.
