Ministry of Trade and Industry’s Italian delegation receives investment of RM2.84 billion

A delegation from the Malaysian Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (Miti) visited Italy from January 12 to 16, 2024, and successfully secured a total potential investment of RM2.84 billion and identified a potential export value of Malaysian products and services of RM500 million.

Minister Tengku Zafrul Aziz held talks with well-known Italian companies covering the automotive, aerospace, semiconductor, food, biofuel, machinery and equipment sectors. The delegation also visited facilities of STMicroelectronics, EDA Industries and Leonardo. The Ministry of Trade and Industry said the company highlighted its investment plans in Malaysia, promising knowledge transfer and creation of high-value jobs.

The Ministry of Trade and Industry pointed to the meeting with Ferrero International and ENI Trade and Biofuels SpA to highlight Malaysia’s position in the global supply chain. The results of this visit will help achieve the goals of the 2030 Industrial Master Plan.
