Malaysia Guoan Network signed a memorandum of understanding with the University of Malaya, Tsinghua University Architectural Design and Research Institute, and China Smart Energy Industry Alliance to establish a carbon neutrality joint R&D center with CPID.

The move is part of a historic collaboration between Malaysia and China in the field of clean energy and carbon neutrality, highlighting the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and the Belt and Road Initiative.

The Ministry of Agriculture has strengthened the exchange of clean energy technologies and knowledge to promote the adoption of renewable energy in Malaysia and lay the foundation for carbon neutrality commitments. The partnership plans to build 2 to 3 GW of clean energy power plants to help the country achieve a low-carbon, sustainable future. The investment is expected to reach RM14 billion.

The University of Malaya aims to transform the campus into a smart campus with a focus on tackling carbon issues.
