Straits Energy Resources has announced that its subsidiary, Straits CommNet Solutions, has secured a RM15.72 million contract from Tianu for the installation, testing and commissioning of underground aluminium XLPE cables in TNB’s asset development project.

Tianu was the main contractor for the TNB project and worked with SCS for the installation, testing and commissioning of underground cables and fittings. This strategic partnership combines Tianu’s experience in wireline technology and SCS’s proficiency in network solutions to improve underground cable installation, testing and commissioning to ensure distribution network performance, reliability and sustainability.

SCS is due to provide a performance bond of RM798,540 within 28 days. This is not the first contract SCS has been awarded after a similar contract worth RM27.7 million was awarded in October 2023.
