Sabah revenue hits record high of RM7 billion in 2023

The Sabah government recorded record state revenue last year, reaching RM6.973 billion.

Chief Minister Haji Jinur said this was the third consecutive year of record high tax collection. In addition, Sabah’s cumulative investment increased by more than 33 billion ringgit, and trade volume reached a record high in 2022, reaching 118.1 billion ringgit.

He optimistically predicted that with the positive performance of Sabah’s economy, the economic growth rate will reach 4% this year. The Sabah government also established SMJ Energy, an oil and gas company, and achieved considerable income through production sharing contracts and equity acquisitions.
