Malaysia LNG Bhd will work with the Sarawak Natural Resources and Environment Board (NREB) and the Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) to implement the Sungai Project restoration plan until 2027. The program aims to protect and restore ecosystems and raise environmental awareness among local communities.
The plan will cover three main components: establishing water quality standards, riverbank greening and implementing river protection plans. The company is also funding the education of about 80 Sarawakian students in full boarding schools in Peninsular Malaysia and Sarawak until 2029, in partnership with the Sarawak Foundation.
