MDEC aims to cultivate 1 million digital entrepreneurs

The Malaysian Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) aims to train at least one million entrepreneurs in the digital economy this year. Since 2015, MDEC has successfully trained more than 560,000 entrepreneurs through the National Electronic Entrepreneurship Programme, generating sales of more than RM12.44 billion.

MDEC Chairman Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh said he was confident in this goal, stressing the importance of cooperation. In Penang, 18,720 entrepreneurs generated sales of more than RM73 million through the program. The program aims to involve various groups and has been implemented in 55 locations across the country, benefiting a total of 20,894 people.

In Penang, 654 citizens have participated in the JSD program, of which 72 participants have received training and achieved success. Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh said this will help improve digital skills and increase sales and revenue.
