Bridge Data Centers International Pte Ltd (BDC) has signed an Electricity Supply Agreement (ESA) with Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) to support its new data center project in Malaysia.

The ESA comes into effect on March 7, 2024, marking TNB’s commitment to provide additional power resources for the expansion of BDC’s Johor data center. BDC’s collaboration with TNB begins in 2022, with initial access to 275 kV utility power to support its first hyperscale data center project.

BDC is developing another data center campus with a focus on power usage efficiency standards. The company said construction of the facility is progressing well and it expects to receive the necessary compliance certificates soon.

President Eric Fan thanked TNB and government agencies for their support and looked forward to continuing to strengthen the partnership in the future. BDC is a subsidiary of Chindata Group and focuses on providing ultra-large-scale data center solutions.
