Google has partnered with the Malaysian government to launch a new initiative aimed at equipping young people with future artificial intelligence skills and strengthening public services.

The first program will provide 500 Google Career Certificate scholarships to enhance the skills of young people from diverse backgrounds. In addition, Google will work with the Ministry of Higher Education to provide up to 500 vocational certificate scholarships to 161 public universities by the end of 2024. The move is intended to expand the impact of Google’s digital training program, which is launching in 2022.

The second initiative is in partnership with Jabatan Digital Negara (JDN) to provide 445,000 public officials with Google Workspace tools to improve productivity across the public sector.

Google said these initiatives will transform the way services are delivered to benefit Malaysians and help improve digital skills.
