Malaysia-Canada trade up 25% since 2018

Bilateral trade between Malaysia and Canada has grown by 25% since 2018, and the entry into force of the CPTPP has boosted trade.

Canada became the second largest service trade export market after the United States, worth RM110 million, with the two largest segments being transportation and travel.

Malaysia is optimistic about the ASEAN-Canada Free Trade Agreement (ACaFTA) and looks forward to ensuring its success when it takes over the ASEAN Chair in 2025.

Malaysia welcomes Canadian investment and there are currently 96 Canadian manufacturing projects with a total investment of US$274 million, creating 11,027 jobs.
