Penang becomes global semiconductor focus

Malaysia has emerged as a new semiconductor powerhouse, and Penang has become the focus of global attention.

The World Economic Forum says European and American companies are expanding their businesses here to build new global supply chains. Semiconductors are the cornerstone of today’s digital world, and global demand has exceeded 100 billion units.

Malaysia has attracted a large amount of foreign direct investment, such as Intel’s investment of US$7 billion. The government actively promotes scientific and technological innovation and strengthens the development of the semiconductor design field.
