Acwa Power to invest over US$10 billion in Malaysia

Saudi Arabia-based Acwa Power plans to invest more than US$10 billion (about RM47.7 billion) in Malaysia over the next 10 years, mainly in partnership with local company Cypark Resources Bhd.

Acwa Power Chairman Mohamed A. Abu Nayan met with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum Special Session and conveyed the news.

Cypark Resources executive chairman Datuk Ami Moris said the collaboration on the renewable energy project has entered the final stages and is expected to be finalized by the end of this year. The project will promote the development of green energy in Malaysia and is supported by local businesses and the government.
