Sarawak is considered a prime location for green hydrogen production, a point highlighted at the Baker Hughes Energy Conference in Florence, Italy. Recognized for its rich natural resources, clean hydropower and strategic location, Sarawak is poised to become the world’s top destination for green hydrogen production.
Datuk Hazlan noted that Sarawak’s political will and leadership will drive this development. Samsung Engineering also participated in the meeting as an investor in the Hibiscus hydrogen production plant in Bintulu, Sarawak.
Baker Hughes introduced the latest hydrogen production technologies at the event, including a new hydrogen test facility to validate industrial turbines running gas mixtures up to 100% hydrogen. They also reported on progress on key hydrogen projects in Canada and Saudi Arabia.
