Chery Malaysia may become the first company to assemble Chinese brand electric vehicles in Malaysia, with the newly launched Omoda E5 considered the most likely choice.

This move is in line with the government’s localization compliance policy and will help Malaysia become an electric vehicle hub in the region and will create more jobs and boost the local economy.

The E5 uses a 61kWh large-capacity battery with strong power and long cruising range. The car is equipped with advanced driving assistance systems and rich comfort configurations. It is priced at RM146,800 and provides a rich warranty package and free charging equipment.
