Ministry of Trade and Industry aims to have 100 Malaysian technology companies by 2030

Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry Liu Zhendong said that the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (Miti) aims to cultivate 100 local technology companies by 2030 with annual revenue of RM1 billion.

The government will continue to support R&D and innovation of small and medium-sized enterprises by providing financing assistance, advisory services and business guidance to strengthen their value chains. Regarding the proposal to strengthen interstate cooperation and expand markets, the Ministry of Trade and Industry is promoting cooperation among Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Malacca and Negeri Sembilan through the Malaysian Investment Development Authority, focusing on the development of the aerospace industry and global service centers.

The Ministry of Trade and Industry will ensure that inbound investment complies with the 12 income-based indicators of the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 and the National Investment Vision, promoting high value-added activities, regional research and development, and high-skilled employment.
