According to a report by the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (Mida), Malaysia outperforms Thailand and China in terms of investment conditions, ranking 27th in the Global Opportunities Index (GOI) 2024.

The report pointed out that Malaysia stands out among emerging and developing countries in Asia, with a strong institutional framework and balanced advantages in the economic, financial and regulatory fields. Malaysia performs well in five categories of the GOI, providing a relatively low-risk investment environment.

Mida highlighted Malaysia’s advantages in terms of investor rights and strength. The government’s efforts in improving ease of doing business and streamlining the investment process were recognized. Malaysia’s recent investment agreements with Germany and Australia demonstrate its competitiveness in the international investment field.
