There is a high demand for halal food in Thailand, and Malaysian halal product manufacturers should seize the opportunity to cooperate with Thai companies.
Malaysian Ambassador to Thailand Datuk Jojit Samuel said that Muslims in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province account for 30% of the population and are a potential market for halal products. He suggested that Malaysian companies set up factories in cooperation with Thailand, taking advantage of Nakhon Si Thammarat’s rich resources and southern Thailand’s Muslim population.
The ambassador also advocated establishing direct food trade links to reduce costs and drive increased economic activity between the two countries.
