Malaysia Railways says ECRL more than 60% complete

Malaysia Railways Sdn Bhd (MRL) chief executive officer Darwis Abdul Razak said the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) overall progress has reached 62.4% and the Kelantan phase of the project has been completed at 75.8%.

The route from Kota Bharu to Gombak, Selangor is expected to be completed in December 2026 and services will begin in January 2027. The route from Gombak to Port Klang is expected to be completed by December 2027.

The ECRL project is a 665-kilometre, RM50.3 billion railway network that will significantly shorten travel time between Kelantan and Selangor.
