Matrade expects total exports to exceed RM1.7 trillion by 2025

The Malaysian External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) is optimistic about the government’s target of total exports exceeding RM1.7 trillion by 2025.

Chairman Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican said the target was set after total exports exceeded RM1 trillion for three consecutive years. Despite facing global economic challenges, Matrade’s exports totaled RM1.5 trillion and RM1.46 trillion in 2022 and 2023 respectively. Export volume also increased by nearly 8% at the beginning of this year, showing good growth momentum.

During an iftar ceremony, he also announced donations to those in need through Matrade’s wakalah fund, which raised RM175,000.
