Amazon Web Services (AWS) has confirmed that it will lay off hundreds of employees, mainly in sales, marketing and physical store technology development teams. A spokesman said the move was to focus on key strategic areas.
Previously, AWS has laid off tens of thousands of people, including Twitch, Prime, Audible and other departments. In Australia, AWS serves many government agencies and major retailers, with sales exceeding AU$6 billion in 2023, and plans to invest AU$13.2 billion from 2023 to 2027 to expand business scale.
