Pakistan hopes to strengthen ties with Malaysia in trade and investment areas

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said he discussed the possibility of strengthening ties between Malaysia and Pakistan with his Pakistani counterpart Shehbaz over the phone. They agreed to strengthen cooperation in the areas of trade and investment and discussed halal meat exports, regional and international issues.

Prime Minister Shehbaz praised Malaysia’s stance on the Palestinian issue. Anwar prayed that relations between the two countries would continue to develop and achieve mutual benefit.

Shehbaz was elected prime minister for a second time on March 3, defeating Imran Khan-backed candidate Omar Ayub.
