KPJ Healthcare Berhad has become the first hospital in Malaysia to have virtual three-dimensional (3D) medical technology VSI Holomedicine. Chin Keat Chyuan, the company’s president, said they plan to promote modern medical methods based on fifth-generation (5G) telecommunications technology nationwide. He pointed out that a pilot project has been carried out at Specialist Hospital 2, Damansara, Selangor, with plans to expand from next year.

VSI Holomedicine is developed based on the globally certified medical hardware container Microsoft HoloLens 2 and has been used in hospitals in dozens of countries. KPJ Healthcare is supported by Digital Nasional Berhad, TM One, Microsoft USA and the National University Health System of Singapore.

This technology will provide more advanced medical services by providing briefings to patients about to undergo surgery through 3D holograms and 360-degree visual images. KPJ Healthcare plans to promote this technology to its 28 hospitals so that more patients can enjoy the benefits of this innovative approach. This move marks KPJ Healthcare’s leadership in the medical technology sector.
