On November 15, Agriculture and Food Security Minister Mohamed Sabu held a meeting with the state Agriculture Executive Council and approved the Farmers Registration Law.

“Through this initiative, identifying the actual number of farmers participating in the agricultural sector will help the government allocate assistance and incentives.

“This will also provide a reference for all parties, especially in planning the development of the agri-food sector, and prevent gaps in the assistance provided to farmers,” the ministry said in a statement on November 16.
