Serian’s GDP welcomes strong growth and will reach RM1.4 billion in 2030

On November 16, Sarawak Prime Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg stated that the Sarawak government has set a goal to add RM800 million to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Serian Province within the next seven years in order to It can reach RM1.4 billion by 2030.

This was the statement made by Sarawak Prime Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg at a press conference after chairing the 5th meeting of the Sarawak Development Coordinating Committee in 2023 at the Serian Convention and Exhibition Center. The GDP of Serian Province is currently RM600 million. As long as all the basic facilities are in place, Serian Province can definitely achieve this goal.

Abang Johari said that of the 80 projects in Serian province with a total value of RM368.6 million, 34 projects (42%) have been completed, 12 projects (15%) are in different stages, and 30 projects are in the planning stage of the Agency. This means that these projects will be completed during the mid-term review phase of the 12th Malaysia Plan.
