Stellantis will sell cars in Malaysia from 2024

Stellantis NV, a global automaker, has announced that it will set up a new National Sales Company (NSC) in Malaysia in the first quarter of 2024, covering brands such as Citroën, Peugeot and Jeep.

The company appreciates the partnership with Bermaz Auto Alliance and highlights that the new strategy will provide more products and services to the Malaysian market, including the launch of new brands in the future. The NSC will be led by Jamie Francis Morais, Stellantis’ current head of aftermarket and distributor business in ASEAN.

Ben Yeoh, Executive Chairman of Bermaz Auto, expressed his full support for Stellantis’ ambitions.

Stellantis’ new strategy in the ASEAN region includes electrification ambitions, the Gurun plant in Kedah as an EV battery manufacturing hub, and a commitment to boost EV battery consumption.

The company will invest more than RM2 billion to introduce the STLA Medium platform to produce multi-energy vehicles and manufacture branded vehicles in ASEAN.
