Chongqing Changan Automobile and Huawei signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a joint venture to develop and produce intelligent driving systems and components, which could disrupt the automotive manufacturing landscape.
Huawei will set up a dedicated company, and Changan Automobile will become a major shareholder, and plans to acquire up to 40% of the company’s shares. The joint venture aims to become the world’s leading provider of intelligent driving systems and components, create an open platform, and invite investment from strategic partners in the automotive industry.
The partnership represents Changan Automobile’s transformation into a smart mobility technology company focused on innovation, including automotive intelligent driving solutions, intelligent cockpits, digital platforms, automotive cloud systems, AR-HUD and automotive lighting systems. The collaboration will accelerate the development of integrated intelligence capabilities and promote innovation and collaboration in the automotive industry.
