Malaysia will launch an electric motorcycle usage promotion program in December to encourage people with an annual income of less than 120,000 ringgit to buy electric motorcycles and receive rebates of up to 2,400 ringgit.

Prime Minister Anwar said the government welcomes the RM170 million investment by Tenaga Nasional Bhd, Gentari Sdn Bhd and Tesla Malaysia to build 180 electric vehicle charging stations.

He mentioned that the government will provide a loose financing fund of RM2 billion for the National Energy Transformation Plan, and promote investment to focus on high-growth, high-value areas and implement a graded incentive approach.

In addition, the government also plans to set up a high-tech industrial zone in Kelian, Perak to promote the development of electrical and electronics clusters.
