The RM10.9 billion investment achieved in Kelantan by the East Coast Economic Zone Development Council (ECERDC) over the past 15 years is the result of a partnership with the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (Mida) and the Kelantan state government.

ECERDC CEO Baidzawi Che Mat said these investments have created nearly 10,000 jobs and more than 2,000 entrepreneurial opportunities in Kelantan. ECERDC adopts a comprehensive approach to promote investment growth in various sectors in Kelantan, focusing on developing agribusiness to support national food security and implementing large-scale commercial pepper fertilization projects in multiple areas.

Kelantan State Minister Nasuruddin said that ECERDC’s support has benefited Kelantan greatly in terms of investment, infrastructure, logistics and human capital. He emphasized that Kelantan will continue to be the preferred destination for investors, with the help of tax incentives and the soon-to-be-completed East Coast Rail Link project to enhance its appeal.
