McDonald’s announced that it will open 50,000 restaurants worldwide by 2027, setting the fastest growth plan in the brand’s history.

By the end of 2022, McDonald’s had 40,275 restaurants and planned a quarter of its expansion.

The company will make $2.5 billion in capital expenditures in 2024 and plans to add $300 million to $500 million per year, expanding significantly faster than it has gone from 30,000 to 40,000 restaurants in the past 18 years.

According to the Chief Customer Officer, this reflects confidence in the growth potential for the next four years and beyond. The increase in the sale of new products and online orders, as well as affordable prices, have kept McDonald’s strong during inflation. Revenue is expected to grow by nearly 2% in 2024.
