Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the national technical and vocational education and training (TVET) policy will be launched in June next year.

He emphasized that the policy was not a new policy, but rather coordinated TVET education activities among 12 ministries and made adjustments to the 1,344 TVET institutions across the country. He advocated for collaboration between the government and the private sector, noting that the Higher Education Ministry worked with the Malaysian Manufacturers Association to ensure that TVET students who completed the course were directly absorbed into working in registered companies.

In addition, he suggested that TVET institutions implement a shift so that 30% of learning takes place in classrooms and 70% in laboratories, seminars or on-the-job training to improve the employment opportunities of graduates in the market.
