Japan’s Saitama Prefecture invests in Malaysia’s halal food and machinery industry

Saitama Prefecture, which ranks fifth among Japanese prefectures in terms of population and economic productivity, is examining opportunities to invest in the halal food and automated machinery industries in Malaysia.

Saitama Prefecture Governor Ono Motohiro said that 20 Saitama companies have invested in Malaysia, focusing on food manufacturing, automation and electronics industries. He said Saitama Prefecture has a strong food industry that can help Malaysia. Ono also emphasized that Saitama Prefecture has as many as 27,000 manufacturing companies, ranking seventh among them in the aerospace and automotive fields.

He invited Malaysians to visit tourist attractions in Saitama Prefecture, noting the rising popularity of Japanese cuisine in Malaysia.
