India-ASEAN Summit to invest RM500 million in Malaysian startups

The India-Malaysia Startup Bridge at the India-ASEAN Startup Summit (IASS) was launched with the aim of promoting bilateral relations and attracting RM500 million in investment into the Malaysian startup ecosystem.

The summit will promote collaboration between Indian and Malaysian startups and investments are expected to flow through strategic partnerships. The IASS chairman said the RM500 million investment would reflect confidence in the potential of the partnership.

The summit focuses on women-led startups and aims to address challenges and opportunities. The Indian High Commissioner to Malaysia said Malaysian startups can benefit from the Indian market and incentives.

The trade relationship between India and Malaysia is becoming increasingly close, and the bilateral trade volume is expected to reach US$20 billion in 2022-2023.
