Coca-Cola has launched Coca-Cola Original and Zero Sugar 500ml bottles in Malaysia, which are made entirely from recycled plastic bottles, in line with global sustainability goals.
The initiative aims to minimize the use of virgin materials in the market and prevent environmental pollution through recycling of recycled materials. This is in line with The Coca-Cola Company’s global sustainable packaging strategy, which aims to use at least 50% recycled materials in global packaging by 2030.
The product uses 100% recycled PET plastic and has obtained Halal certification. Coca-Cola also cooperates with recyclers to prioritize large-volume recycling. At the same time, through cooperation, it increases awareness of waste classification, educates the public on effective waste classification practices, and promotes sustainable development.
