The leaders of Malaysia and Japan announced the upgrading of bilateral relations to a strategic comprehensive partnership, emphasizing the broad cooperation between the two countries on regional and global affairs.
The leaders witnessed the signing of Japan’s official security assistance grant, which will provide monitoring and surveillance equipment. A memorandum of cooperation in space development and applications was also signed between the Malaysian Space Agency and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency.
The Prime Minister of Malaysia expressed his gratitude for Japan’s contribution in Southeast Asia, emphasizing the economic and strategic partnership between the two countries.
