Petronas subsidiary Gentari invests in Taiwan’s largest offshore wind power project

Gentari, the green energy subsidiary of Petronas, invested in the Hailong offshore wind power project in the Taiwan Strait and acquired a 49% stake in Northland Power Inc., equivalent to an indirect stake of 29.4%.

This is an important step for Gentari in the offshore wind power field and a key project to help Taiwan achieve its goal of building 15 GW of offshore wind power by 2035. The Hailong project has a total power generation capacity of 1,022 MW. Once put into operation, it will become one of the largest offshore wind power facilities in Asia, providing clean energy to more than one million households in Taiwan.

Gentari’s CEO said this is an important step toward achieving the company’s clean energy goals and an important milestone in driving the adoption of renewable energy around the world.
