Despite concerns about rising costs and inflation, Malaysian SMEs are confident about 2024, with 79% of business leaders optimistic about their company’s growth prospects. 48% of respondents believe rising costs and inflation are the biggest challenges this year.
The survey pointed out that small and medium-sized enterprises need to face the problems of employee skills improvement and manpower shortage. Opportunities in 2024 include digital transformation, artificial intelligence and automation (32%), global expansion and e-commerce (31%), and employee education and training (28%). Challenges include cash flow (28%) and reduced revenue and customers (23%).
The analysis points out that these data play an important role in guiding leaders’ decision-making.
